Our Stylists

Grant Paquin

Owner / Stylist
I opened Cut-Splice because I needed to change my trajectory on how I approached hair. With years of working at large salons, being asked to push clients thru quickly, and acting more like a salesman than a stylist, I knew I needed a change. Inspired and determined, I opened Cut-Splice and focused on what I love to do; the art of hair.

Owning and managing the shops presents a new set of challenges, but nothing is better than when I get behind the chair and get to do what I love. I have a close relationship with my staff and have brought them on knowing that they share the love of hair as much as I do. I’m proud to offer them an environment to achieve their best work while giving them an honest employment opportunity that they can really be a part of.

Vildan Ocalan

Stylist - Charlestown
Having grown up with a mom who is a hairstylist, I knew I had a passion for the hair industry from an early age. Almost 15 years later, I still love what I do! I really enjoy learning and growing as a stylist, and feel lucky to be in an industry where trends and techniques are always changing.

Cut-Splice is a creative space with a fun energy where everyone can feel at home, and I'm proud to be a part of that type of culture.

Laura Crosbie

Stylist - Charlestown
I always wanted to do hair and was able to start my career at a very early age. The ability to connect with my clients and make them feel confident and beautiful makes my day. I have been impressed with the laid-back environment that Cut-Splice provides, and love working with such a talented and fun group of people.

Beth Semon

Stylist - Charlestown
Starting at a young age I always knew I had a passion for hair. I would beg my mom to let me pull her hair through a frosting cap. I spent my high school years cutting and coloring my friends hair, and it wasn’t until I had ruined the bathroom in my college dorm with hair color that I decided that I needed to follow my passion.

Now, almost 10 years, later I couldn’t picture myself doing anything but hair, or work anywhere but Cut-Splice. I love instantly being able to make a client feel beautiful. I’m constantly inspired to push myself to refine my technique and grow as a stylist.

Julie Clifford

Stylist - Charlestown
Having spent 10 plus years on Newbury Street, I found my way to Cut-Splice in search of a peaceful work environment. I love the beautiful location of the Charlestown Navy Yard and the relaxed ambiance of Cut-Splice. My favorite color services are bright platinum blondes and fun fantasy colors. My true passion lies in creating short women's haircuts and bobs. I love getting to know people and finding a style that suits their personality and needs.

Becca How

Stylist Charlestown - Seaport

When asked why I chose a career as a stylist, I immediately think back to my
childhood in Clare, Ireland. I would beg everyone with long hair to sit
patiently while I practiced braiding and styling techniques. I spent my teenage years
interning at a salon in my neighborhood until I moved to the United States in 2008.
Shortly after relocating to New England, I graduated from SpaTech in Westbrook,
Maine with a Cosmetology License. I then moved to the Boston area, where I met Grant. He's taken me under his wing and taught me everything I needed to know about capturing
the unique and dynamic personality that each client embodies. I love helping people
discover their confidence and am continuously inspired by the challenge of keeping
up with the evolving trends of our culture.
